Digitale Medizin in der Kardiologie
The Digital Medicine in Cardiology group at the Medical University of Innsbruck conducts research at the interface between digital technologies and medicine with the ultimate goal to maximize the benefit of the ongoing digital transformation in health care. Established in February 2024 our group focuses on:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) methods for prediction and early detection of cardiovascular diseases using multimodal and heterogeneous clinical data
- Development of novel digital biomarkers based on traditional (e.g., electrocardiography, echocardiography) and novel (e.g., speech, patient videos) data modalities
- Application of smart devices for screening and disease management
A major advantage of our group is its affiliation with the University Clinic of Cardiology and Angiology, which enables a direct collaboration between medical and technological domain experts. This allows us to work on the full medical research pipeline ranging from clinical research questions to technology development and clinical trials in a highly interdisciplinary manner.
